He initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, which was being driven by a 35-year-old woman. Instead of presenting her driver's license, the woman gave Sgt. Mladek her vape pen. She then gave Sgt. Mladek the silent treatment and refused to answer any of his questions.The police report indicates that Sgt. Mladek could smell alcohol coming from the vehicle. The woman was asked to step out of her vehicle, but she refused, so Sgt. Mladek extracted her. During this process, she attempted to kick Officer Abt. She was taken down to the ground and was placed in hobble leg restraints.
